When acquaintances ask them to promote their page for some not very frequent and competitive request, I just give them instructions for doing it on their own. Work in SEO has long gone by the wayside: the most that I do is basic optimization or audit.

This instruction does not include any costs at all, except for your personal time. Success here depends on the level of competition, so commercial high-frequency queries using this scheme are unlikely to be promoted trivially due to the fact that dinosaurs are already in the top that are difficult to compete with. But if you have a regional query with little competition, this guide will definitely help you …

So, here are the main steps that are required for successful promotion:

1. Quality page

This is the first and most important condition. Behavioral factors are trending right now, so you have to imagine what the user means by typing in the request, and exhaustively answer all the questions that he has and may arise. The strongest behavioral factor is if, after reading your text, the person did not return to the search.

On the page, add tables, subheadings, lists, illustrations, links to authoritative sources, videos as much as possible. The search engine appreciates the reading of the text more than the time spent on the page, so the more concise the text, the better.

The promotion is now being built around a quality page. No amount of SEO will help if your page isn’t informative – people will just bombard it with behavioral ones.

By the way, now the majority of SEOs start promoting just with work on the quality of the page. SEOs have long been transformed into internet marketers, although not everyone realized this.

2. Relevance

This is essentially a sign on a store. The search engine evaluates the content of the page by meta tags and tags. To participate in the race, you must submit an application. Your title is an application for participation in the competition for a place in the issue.

Use Wordstat to collect all phrases and synonyms. SEOs use automatic programs, but one of your requests can be collected manually. These phrases must be included in title, description, h1, h2 and h3.

Collecting semantics and correctly composing tags and meta tags is a separate science. I studied this in courses for 2 months, so it is advisable to entrust this moment to a specialist – he will do everything much faster and more accurately. But you can also do this at an acceptable level after reading a couple of articles. Fortunately, this moment is detailed everywhere.

3. Ambient content

One in the field is not a warrior, so a site that has 10 pages about winemaking is more likely to jump into the top than a site with one, even ideal, page. It was this factor that launched such a popular trend as microsites. These are highly specialized sites of 5-40 pages, which work out the topic so deeply that they manage to oust dinosaurs with a ten-year history from the first positions.

It is important to create pages for similar queries, and not for the same topic. That is, these should be clearly different topics. Creating two pages on the same topic will lead to the opposite effect – the search engine will define them as incomplete duplicates and pessimize them.

Pages of the same topic are linked with each other in the text or in a separate block.

4. Links

This tool is still working. A few good links will dramatically improve your rankings. But in light of the increased attention of search engines to link building, this must be done very carefully.

Under no circumstances should you buy automatic runs for profiles and catalogs. There is no “10 bold links for 500 rubles”. Most likely, you will buy yourself sanctions from search engines. Especially if you have a young site. Even seasoned link builders often buy links that get bad over time. The inexperienced person is almost guaranteed to buy the site of the problem.

A good link is one that is posted on a good site (the higher the ICS, the better) and is clicked on. Just type in your search query that you want to promote, and go through forums and sites where there is commenting. Create a detailed comment on the topic and add a link.

The main thing here is quality content, which I wrote about in the first paragraph. So, if your page is of high quality, moderators will not delete your link. I even put my links on Wikipedia, and they still hang there.

In comments, links usually do not convey weight to your site, because they are closed with a nofollow tag. It’s okay, because a closed nofollow link that people click on is better than a dead follow.

If you have a site of a similar subject, you can put a link from it to the page being promoted. This is where you, as the owner, control the quality of your site so that the link won’t go bad over time. By the way, the method of promotion using your own sites is now quite popular. If interested, you can read about PBN – there are many nuances that need to be observed.

These are the most important factors that will help you advance on a low-competition request. And if everything is done very well, then you can compete for frequency requests. The main thing is to make the page itself really useful.

In addition to these 4 main points, it is necessary to observe such simple, but also important factors:

  • The site must be responsive for mobile devices.
  • High download speed.
  • Low-value pages should be closed from robots in robots.txt. When entering a search query: “site: yousite.com” there should be no junk pages.
  • The presence of Google counters.
  • Explicit indication of the region, contacts and company details, if the request is commercial.
  • Diverse and sufficient number of contacts

Now that you’ve done all this, it remains to wait. Search engines are inert and first determine relevance, then they collect behavioral statistics for a long time before your page takes its rightful place in the search results.

To speed up the process of collecting behavioral robots, you can send traffic to the page – buy ads or redirect from another domain. The main thing is that the traffic is targeted, otherwise, instead of high behavioral, you will show search robots that the page is not interesting to users.

All promotion efforts are aimed at working with the page itself. If you have an information request, then it will be quite easy for you to get the desired location by creating the most useful content. There is much less room for maneuver on the product page, but you can walk the buyer’s path and find growth points: place a calculator, provide a manual for download, or post a video review. All this will eventually work in a plus and help to achieve the desired goal.

Now promotion is shifting more and more from robots to humans, and all promotion efforts are reduced primarily to creating a very useful page on which the visitor will find answers to their questions and become a buyer.

This is how it happens: you answer a friend’s question, and a whole article comes out. So it is in this case. But you no longer need to explain to everyone, you just need to send a link. Which I usually do)
